Add a group of items from Endnote

First export the items from Endnote

  1. In EndNote (desktop), select the citations you would like to add to Leganto
  2. Click the arrow symbol from the toolbar icons to export
  3. Select a location to save the file onto your device
  4. Name the file:
    • Manually add .ris to the end of the name (replacing .txt) e.g. Endnote for leganto.ris
    • Type: Text File (*txt)
    • Output style: RefMan (RIS)
      • If you don't see the RefMan option, choose Select Another Style.
      • Scroll down to RefMan (RIS) Export and click Choose.
  5. Click Save

 

Next add Endnote items to Reading List

  1. In your reading list, click the +Add button
  2. Select Import References > From File
  3. Under File Type select RIS
  4. Either drag your saved file into the box, or click to browse for a file
  5. At the top of the Import reference from file pop up window, select the section you want to add the references to
  6. Click the green Add all items button (top right)
  7. Your items will now be added to your section and you can close the pop up window
  8. You can click and drag citations to move them into other sections in your list

 

Add individual items from EndNote Online

First add EndNote Online to your reading list settings

  1. In your reading list click on the Settings menu - cog icon at top right
  2. Next choose: Reference managers > Add citation managers. 
  3. Select EndNote and click the green Connect button
  4. After selecting EndNote, you are prompted to authorise Reading Lists to access your EndNote Online account:
    • Enter your Endnote Online account email address and password 
  5. Click Authorise
  6. Close the Connect to Endnote tab to return to reading lists - click Confirm
  7. Close the Reference Managers pop up window

Next add EndNote Online items to your reading list

  1. Once EndNote is added as a reference manager, EndNote appears in your reading list under Add > Import references menu 
  2. To add items to your list from EndNote Online, in your reading list click the +Add button and select Import references > From EndNote
  3. You will see all your EndNote items - you can choose to sort or search the references
  4. Mouse over the item you want to add to your list.  You can drag and drop the item using the drag icon on the left hand side:
