Option 3. Cite it! for adding web resources to reading lists

The Cite It! tool is a browser extension which enables you to add external resources such as websites, Amazon records, government documents, YouTube and blogs directly from your browser.

Use Cite it! for content not found with Option 1 - Search the Library or unlikely to be held in the Library.

  • Currently, the Cite it! Browser extension is available for Chrome and Microsoft Edge. 
  • If you use Safari or a different browser, you can use the alternative Cite it! Bookmarklet tool. See Option 3b.

Adding the Cite it! Browser Extension

To use this feature, you need to add the Cite It! extension to your Chrome of Microsoft Edge browser:

  1. In a Reading List, click the settings cog (top right)
  2. Select Cite It!
  3. You will see the Cite It! pop-up window: choose the 'Installation instructions' option, then on the next page scroll down to choose the instructions for your browser and follow the directions
  4. You will need to copy the Institution Info into the Extension options - copy this Info from the Cite-It pop-up window:
