There are a variety of ways to manage references for research projects and systematic review and EndNote has many features which may assist with whichever you use. One of EndNote's greatest strengths is its ability to handle very large numbers of references.

Edit batches of records e.g. to format species names or other scientific words you wish in Italics.
You can use the same technique to make other bulk edits e.g. a persistent typo in multiple records etc., but think carefully whether you might inadvertently change records incorrectly. You may need to select a group, or range of records and follow these steps rather selecting 'All references'.
This example formats the Latin name Aeromonas salmonicida to italics.
