If your CIQ password has expired, or if you did not activate it within 24 hours of receiving your activation email, please send an email to: S&P Capital IQ Client Services <firstname.lastname@example.org> to request that your password be renewed.
Don't forget to check your email and your spam/junk email folders frequently for a reply from Capital IQ. For security reasons, CIQ passwords must be activated within 24 hours.
The Datastream service ended in August 2021. Students are advised to use Capital IQ or FAME (UK companies only).

These resources provide contact details, profit and loss, balance sheets, ratios, equities, market indices, bonds, foreign exchange, interest rates, commodities and derivatives, and news and many other company and financial details.
Capital IQ contains data on worldwide equities and private companies, Indices, commodities, fixed income, M&A. It is also an excellent source of Macroeconomic data and exchange rates. Most data is available for at least 10 years.

Registering for a Personal CIQ account and to use the Excel Plugin
To use the Plug-in you will need to register for your own CIQ account at this link:
Only Stirling Management Students and Staff may register. Please note: it may take 24-48 hours to receive your account activation email. Note that your account must be activated within 24 hours so it is important to keep checking your email and junk/spam mail box for the activation message.
'My Capital IQ' and Excel Plug-in
The Capital IQ Office Plug-in allows you to quickly build and manipulate financial models and spreadsheets by accessing company financials, estimates, market data, transactions, ownership, fixed income data and more, directly within Excel.
To download the Plug-in, access Capital IQ > 'My Capital IQ > Downloads
You must register to use the Excel plugin (see above).
To see FT company profiles for public companies select Markets > Markets Data > Equities and search for your company. Click the 'Profile' tab or on right of screen select 'View full business profile'. Note: you must register for full access to FT
To view company profiles and news, click the 'Company' tab at the top of the database and enter your company name.
