Capital IQ contains data on worldwide equities and private companies, Indices, commodities, fixed income, M&A. It is also an excellent source of Macroeconomic data and exchange rates. Most data is available for at least 10 years.

To see FT company profiles for public companies select Markets > Markets Data > Equities and search for your company. Click the 'Profile' tab or on right of screen select 'View full business profile'. Note: you must register for full access to FT
To view company profiles and news, click the 'Company' tab at the top of the database and enter your company name.
