Torrossa offer ebooks as digital files covering a wide range of subjects.

See below for details of how to: read chapters online; consult their books in ePub format; and download their PDF files

Reading Torrossa chapters online

To read Torrossa chapters online:

  • Choose 'Go to chapters':

 

  • Select your chapter
  • Click on 'Read Online':

 

  • Now you can read the chapter on the screen:

Books in ePub format

 Some books on Torrossa are only available in EPub format. 

  • To consult these ePubs, first download the must have the free Torrossa Reader App on your computer or mobile device.

After downloading their Reader App it can make opening and reading ePub books easier if you also set the Reader as the program to use when opening their ePub files.

On your device you can choose which program is used to open different file types. For example on a windows 10 device do the following:

  1. Press the Windows key,

  1. Type Default apps, and press the Enter key.
  2. On the right side, in the Default apps section, scroll down and click the Choose default apps by file type option.

  1. Under the Name column, locate the file extension you want to modify. You want to modify: .epub
  2. Under the Default app column, click the name of the currently-selected default program.
  3. In the Choose an app pop-up window, select the program you want to associate with that file type.
  4. Choose Torrossa Reader

How to download PDF Torrossa files

In order to open PDF files on Torrossa, Adobe Reader must be installed on the computer or device that you are using. Adobe Reader may be downloaded free of charge at: https://get.adobe.com/reader

If  you are working on a university managed device that doesn't already have the Adobe Reader installed, you can download the Reader from AppsAnywhere. (Login to the University Portal, choose AppsAnywhere from the left hand menu bar, search for Acrobat Reader, then choose to Launch).

 

To download ebooks or chapter files:

  1. Choose the Download icon next to the book or chapter:

 

  1. The file will download – see the top right hand corner of your browser:

 

  1. Click on the file to open it

 

  1. You will likely see a page of instructions:

 

  1. Save a local copy of this file using the keyboard command ‘ctrl+s’ for Windows (‘cmd+s’ for Mac) or click on the download icon in the top right corner of your browser 

 

  1. Navigate to the folder where you’ve saved the file

 

  1. Right click on the file and choose 'Open with', then 'Adobe acrobat':

 

  1. Now you can read the book or chapter:
