eBooks: Cambridge University Press eTextbooks

The Library subscribes to eTextbooks from Cambridge University Press. You will see this mentioned in LibrarySearch or your Reading list by the label:

"Stirling CUP Etextbook Collection"

You can read CUP eTextbook online as long as you are logged into Portal and access them via LibrarySearch or your Reading List.

If you wish to download the book for offline reading, you will need to:

• Create an account with Cambridge University Press
• Download the Cambridge Spiral app to your computer or mobile device

See instructions below.

To read the eTextbook online:

• Click the' Read online' link.
• When you see the login pop-up box, click 'Continue with read-only access.

If you wish to download a CUP eTextbook to your own computer e.g. to read it offline or use other functionality such as note taking, printing, format as PDF etc..:

• Find the book that you want and link to it from LibrarySearch or from a Reading List in Canvas as appropriate.
• Click Register to get your account. Use your University email address for User name and create a password.

• When you have an account click Login and select the option to Log in With your Cambridge Core account and enter your email address and the password you created.
• 

• Click the button to Add to offline bookshelf.

• To read the book offline, you need to download the Cambridge Spiral app to your computer or mobile (see instructions below). When you login to the app, any books you have added to the offline bookshelf will be listed and ready to use.

You can download CUP eTextbooks to read offline (see instructions above) within the CUP's Cambridge Spiral App.

You can download the app for laptops and desktop devices:

Download the Windows app [~130MB, Windows 7 and above]
Download the Mac app [~100 MB, Mac OS 10.12 Sierra and above]

For mobile devices go to Google Play or the App Store, search for Cambridge Spiral and download it.

Login with your University email address and the Password you created when you registered for an account (see instructions above on registering).

Any books you have added to the offline bookshelf will be listed and ready to use.
