Capital IQ Password

If your CIQ password has expired, or if you did not activate it within 24 hours of receiving your activation email, please send an email to: S&P Capital IQ Client Services <support.ciq@spglobal.com> to request that your password be renewed.

Don't forget to check your email and your spam/junk email folders frequently for a reply from Capital IQ. For security reasons, CIQ passwords must be activated within 24 hours.

Capital IQ Plug-in Not in Excel Ribbon

If you have downloaded the Capital IQ Excel Plugin and it is not showing in your Excel ribbon, try checking the following options:

Excel COM Add-ins

  1. In Excel click File > Options > Add-ins
  2. From the Manage drop-down list select COM Add-ins and click Go

     
  3. Make sure the S&P Capital IQ Excel Plug-in option is ticked and click OK.

No COM Add-in for Capital IQ

If you have followed the steps above and do not see Capital IQ in the Excel Add-ins:

  1. Close all instances of Excel and Word.
  2. Launch Plug-in Manager (From the windows search type plug-in manager and select S*P Capital IQ Office Plug-in Manager)

     
  3. In the configuration tab make sure that Excel is ticked and click apply.

If you have followed the steps above and find that the Excel Plug-in is already ticked (or if you are unable to find the Plug-in Manager) try the following steps: 

  1. In Excel click File > Options > Add-ins.
  2. From the Manage drop-down list select Disabled items and click Go.
  3. Find addin.ciqaddin.connect and click Enable.
