Refine Research Assistant Results Using Filters

You can refine your Research Assistant search results by resource type and date.

  • On the left of the search box, click on the filters icon to see the options to filter by:

  • You can filter by:
    • resource type: Journal articles, Books or Peer-reviewed

and/or

  • by date: last 12 months, last 5 years, last 10 years or a custom date of your choosing:

 

  • For example, filter by resource type = Journal articles and date = Last 5 years:

 

  • All the sources found are articles and from the last 5 years:

 

  • These refinements are automatically set to use in your follow-up question:

 

Refine using search command

You can also refine search results automatically by adding a phrase to the end of your search question. You can choose to refine by resource type and date range.

  • The phrase is in this format:

based on <resource_type> from <date_range>

 

  • For example, here the question is refined by the resource type (Journal article) and one of the pre-defined date ranges (Last 5 years):

How does vitamin D deficiency impact overall health? based on journal articles from the last 5 years

  • Or another example:

How does diet affect health? based on books from 2015-2025

 

  • These refinements are automatically set to use in your follow-up question:
