Every February in the lead up to Valentines Day, we run 'Love letters to the Library'.
You can pick up paper slips to tell us what you love about the Library and the wider service. You can also write us a break up letter if you are not feeling the love. Pop your letters into the sealed box and we very much enjoy reading through them every year.
Here are some of the recent comments we've received:
We had many responses about our staff;
We also had a lot of positive comments about the library and it’s services. Here are just a few of them;
“I adore your well-being space, it’s one of my favourite places on campus.”
“The library feels like a second home, I feel at peace here.”
“I can’t stop coming here. I love walking around the place and I enjoy the view.”
“I am so grateful for the opening and closing times.”
“I adore the library and all the staff”
“The Library was a lifesaver when my laptop broke, and I could only do work there. Stay awesome!”
“Thank you for the free articles – So cool.”
“Thanks for the computers, I love the speed and functionality.”
“Thanks for the great services and the great books.”
We only had 3 break-up letters, one about food rules in the library, and the others about the variable temperature in the Library. We are hoping to reintroduce our pre-pandemic blanket scheme as a result of the temperature comment so we do try to act on our feedback.
When using our library discovery system, LibrarySearch, if you spot issues you can immediately report this via ‘Report a Problem’.
Simply click on the ‘Report a Problem’ icon that appears in the bottom right hand corner of every page in LibrarySearch:
You can report a broken link, search issue or inappropriate terms.
Every so often we add a link to a very short survey to our responses to your enquiries. In the survey we ask how satisfied you were with the response given (on a scale) and if you would like to leave any comments. We aim to achieve a 95% satisfaction rate on satisfaction with enquiries.
Another major feedback event for us is the annual Christmas Wish Tree in the Library.
Loved by staff and students alike, this is your opportunity to feedback on our services, staff, anything to do with our Library community. Often messages are in the spirit of the season and quite uplifting in nature with students wishing each other luck in exams, wishing for their own success, sending kind messages to others.
