You can export book records from the Library Catalogue into EndNote. Note that the export does not work well for records that are journal articles.
Export individual book records
You can export book records from a list of search results or a detailed book record
- In the Library Catalogue (http://discoverlibrary.stir.ac.uk).
- Select the Books tab and enter your search.
- On the catalogue results page, select the EndNote icon next to any book record you want to export to Endnote.

- (Alternatively select the title of a book to view the detailed book record and select the EndNote icon in the detailed record).
- A 'Choose Destination' window will open - select EndNote in the window, click OK.
- Choose your Endnote Library.
- A 'Choose An Import Filter' window will open.
- In the Choose An Import Filter window, in the Quick Search box, type stirling and press Enter on your keyboard. This will search for the correct import filter.
- Select Stirling_Catalog_MARC, then click on the Choose button.
- The record will be exported from the Catalogue into Endnote.
- Check the record and edit as required, for example, you will need to remove unnecessary punctuation that has been copied across from the Library Catalogue.
Export a number of book records
- In the Library Catalogue (http://discoverlibrary.stir.ac.uk).
- Select the Books & Journals tab and enter your search.
- On the catalogue results page, select the Basket icon next to any book records you want to export.

- Choose the My Basket link at the top right of the Catalogue.
- You will see the list of records you added to your Basket, make sure the tick box next to each record is selected and choose the Export to Endnote option on the menu bar at the top of the list.
- A 'Choose Destination' window will open - select EndNote in the window, click OK.
- Choose your Endnote Library.
- A 'Choose An Import Filter' window will open.
- In the Choose An Import Filter window, in the Quick Search box, type stirling and press Enter on your keyboard. This will search for the correct import filter.
- Select Stirling_Catalog_MARC, then click on the Choose button.
- The records will be exported from the Catalogue Basket into Endnote.
- Check the records and edit as required, for example, you will need to remove unnecessary punctuation that has been copied across from the Library Catalogue.
