Export to RefWorks

If you want to save references for later or keep track of the resources you are using for your research, you can Export them to RefWorks. Click on the Export to Refworks icon (the blue one) under the Additional actions options next to the items title.

RefWorks will open in a new browser window or tab, if you haven't already logged into your Refworks account you will be asked to do so now. The RefWorks Import References window will be open, make sure your reference was imported successfully. You can find more information on how to use RefWorks on our Refworks LibGuide.

Export to Endnote: Books & Journals

You can export book records from the Library Catalogue into EndNote. Note that the export does not work well for records that are journal articles.

Export individual book records

You can export book records from a list of search results or a detailed book record

  • In the Library Catalogue (http://discoverlibrary.stir.ac.uk).
  • Select the Books & Journals tab and enter your search.
  • On the catalogue results page, select the EndNote icon next to any book record you want to export to Endnote.

  • (Alternatively select the title of a book to view the detailed book record and select the EndNote icon in the detailed record).
  • A 'Choose Destination' window will open - select EndNote in the window, click OK.
  • Choose your Endnote Library.
  • A 'Choose An Import Filter' window will open.
  • In the Choose An Import Filter window, in the Quick Search box, type stirling and press Enter on your keyboard. This will search for the correct import filter.
  • Select Stirling_Catalog_MARC, then click on the Choose button.
  • The record will be exported from the Catalogue into Endnote.
